This last semester was full of fun times with friends, building a beautiful new relationship, and graduate courses that really focused me into what I think I want to do. Between Physical and Chemical Processes for Water Treatment, Intro to Zymurgy (beer brewing), and my independent study that connected the two I really felt like I was doing something more than filling out scantrons and blasting through my calculator batteries. One of the deliverables for my independent study was another ArcGIS storymap. The purpose of the map is to be an informational guide to the water that the largest brewery in the world uses. Tracking from the Missouri River, through the Chain of Rocks Drinking Water Treatment Plants all the way through to the beer brewing process.
It was really special to be able to connect these courses together and to apply my knowledge from both to teach others around me. While this project may sound niche to some, being able to connect local brewers to the water treatment plant operators as well as actually brewing beer with my own hands really made this project worth while. I invite you to press the button below and explore this new story map. If you have any questions or comments please reach out to me here or through email.
