Something that I started doing in high school was waking up at 4:00am and walking the streets of me local city. Its a wonderful way to better understand the city you're in. I find that you can not only get some fun images but you often get to experience a entirely different side of life. Seeing people unloading trucks, opening stores, and sleeping on benches puts you in different place.
I have to say I'm not super thrilled by the images I made that morning although a couple did come out pretty well. I didn't just take images of the Boise JUMP building but these were the ones I liked the most. Creating these images I used a bunch technical and editing skills, so look out for a blog post on how I got my RAW files to look the way they do.
