So I mostly wanted to share some images from my short drive up Loveland Pass for my birthday. It was really just a way of getting out and taking advantage of the sun and good weather. Loveland Pass is a very important and popular pass as it is the only way over the Continental Divide other than going through the long Eisenhower Tunnel, it also grants the quickest access to Arapahoe Basin Ski Area from Denver. For me it is a familiar drive and a beautiful high alpine area (12,000ft) that I’ve never tried to photograph till now. Hope you enjoy!
Also I only had the 70-200mm F2.8 with me since I dropped the Sigma on the ground the third day I was here in Colorado. This forced me to shoot in either a wide normal perspective (Fuji x100s) or long telephoto perspective which made me really stretch my creativity. Luckily my lens is repaired and heading back so I’ll hopefully be able to do some astrophotography before I go. The final thing that I acquired recently was a brand new tripod that I found at a local thrift store. It is an Enduro Cx213 carbon fiber tripod with a nice head which I was able to pick up for $20. A good price considering just the legs are worth $350 used on Ebay! Pretty excited to finally have a lighter carbon tripod that will hopefully be my new travel companion.
